Any turnstile manufacturer plans to meet the common needs of customers. That is why you have to choose from a large number of models that are quite similar to each other. But what if the standard models do not meet the requirements of the project?

We use AISI 304 stainless steel typically, which is the industry standard for turnstiles that are installed both indoors and outdoors. But sometimes environmental conditions are more difficult. Any equipment operated on the coasts of the seas and oceans, in megacities and industrial areas is strongly affected by factors that cause corrosion - high temperature and humidity, as well as precipitation that has high acidity. Therefore, in such cases, we can make any turnstile from stainless steel AISI 316, which, thanks to the molybdenum in the composition, is more resistant to corrosion.

Also we use structural steels for our turnstiles and speed gates. High-quality painting protects the metal from environmental influences. If painting seems insufficient - we will offer hot-dip galvanizing as an additional protective layer. After all, we can even paint stainless steel, and we've already done that for some customers.

Colors and textures

Paints surve not only a protective coating, but also as a component of design. There are many color options for interiors, and their implementation requires powder coating the turnstiles in the appropriate color. The RAL palette has 215 colors, and hopefully that's enough.

In addition to color, paints have some other properties:

- paints that almost do not reflect light - matte;

- paints that reflect light well - glossy;

- textural paints that look spectacular.

Another option is to cover stainless steel with a "gold". This option looks fascinating and requires careful care. Preferably such a coating is used for turnstiles series Speed gates.

Glass surfaces

We use glass for the side walls of the housing and for top lid. The side glass is decorated with illumination, which signals the status of the turnstile. As an option, we can also apply a variety of patterns, logos and inscriptions on the side glass.

The upper cover of the turnstile (top lid) is made of black tempered glass. Its function is not decorative only, but also protective - RFID readers and lighting are placed under it. In the standard the top lid can be both glass or metal, and combined (glass with metal inserts).

A separate interesting option is the ability to control the backlight colors for turnstiles of the Speed ​​gate series. Standard colors - blue, red, green - can be changed, as far as we use RGB tape. A special case - white backlight. There are significant limitations - first, RGB tape is not able to provide pure white without pink or blue. Secondly, standard glass has a green tint. So for this case, we use the highest cost translucent Crystal glass and white LEDs. Accordingly, interactive lighting in different colors is not available for such speed gates.

Installation of additional equipment

RFID, Proximity, BioMetric, QR and Barcode readers, coin or token receivers, barcode scanners, etc. - there are many devices that could be integrated with speed gates. This will greatly simplify equipment maintenance and allow you to install the system with less work.

Systems that cannot be placed inside turnstiles, due to size or purpose, can be placed outside. If the device has a complete rack - we will prepare for its installation. If the complete rack is absent - we will make it independently.

More opportunities

Mobile platforms

Usually turnstiles are mounted on a solid base with anchors. However, in the case of underfloor heating or other features of the location where it is impossible to carry out installation work, a good solution would be to install turnstiles on a mobile platform.

Turnstiles mounted on platforms can be moved or quickly dismantled. Moreover control cables can be routed through the platforms. We make platforms for any of our turnstiles (for full-height turnstiles also).

Mounting bases

If seasonal use of the turnstile is envisaged, it must be possible to dismantle it without huge effort. Installation on threaded rods is a good option, but they can be damaged in the off-season, so they need to be protected.

The best option is a mounting base that is installed flush with the finish. Most mounting bases are used for full-height turnstiles.

Card collector

If turnstiles are used as part of an access control system, it is a good idea to use separate guest cards. Such cards provide limited access and must be returned after exit. Card collectors are designed to collect guest cards, and the possibility of passing through the turnstile equipped with a card collector occurs only if the card is recognized and removed. Inbuilt card collectors can be placed in any turnstile that has enough space for the mechanism and the container for cards. For other cases, there is a card collector as a separate device.

Passage counters

We offer a counter of the number of passages in both directions to integrate in the turnstile. This option is common in business centers, offices, checkpoints, etc.

Sound signal / audio module

If passage through the turnstile is allowed, this is indicated by a visual indicator. However, there are cases when an additional signal is desired or necessary.

We’d like to share a case about turnstiles for the cinema lounge area. Speed gates have sensors that keep the leaves open all the time while people are in the passage line. Permission to enter is provided by a system that scanned QR codes. When the number of visitors increased, each visitor scanned the code without waiting for the turnstile to close the leaves, so the system did not receive confirmation of a successful scan from the turnstile. The QR code scanner also did not have any indicators, so the turnstile closed the passage in front of a person. Therefore integration of the audio module to confirm a successful autorisation by QR code helps to overcome this problem.

Exit buttons

The exit button, which connects to a separate entrance of the turnstile controller, allows to open the passage. It is usually used where exit out of the territory is free.
